If you want a smile that stands out in the crowd in the Spokane – Phoenix area just ask Spokane Family Dental about cosmetic dental bonding.
What is cosmetic dental bonding?
When we talk about dental bonding we are usually referring to the use of a tooth colored composite resin to enhance the color, shape, and size of select teeth. These are also called composite veneers when the composite is placed over the entire front surface of a tooth.
Do you have any of these following problems?
Chipped and broken teeth, teeth with awkward shapes or sizes, gaps between teeth, stains or discolored teeth, teeth with gum recession where the roots are exposed, poorly positioned teeth, asymmetrical smile. Composite bonding can be used to fix all of these flaws. This is often a perfect, non-invasive way to improve your smile.
How is dental bonding done?
Often times no anesthetic is needed. The tooth surface is prepared with a couple solutions to enhance bonding strength. We then select with you the composite color that perfectly matches your tooth. Then the composite is placed and shaped with hand instruments to the desired outcome. Then a blue light is shined on the tooth and hardens the composite. The composite can now be further polished and shaped until you love the results. This is all done in one visit!
How do I take care of my dental bonding?
Bonding can be flossed and brushed like normal. In order to help your bonding last as long as possible you should always be careful when biting into hard things. Try not to bite things off with your front teeth where the bonding has been done and cut food up and chew with your back teeth. Avoid habits such as chewing your nails or opening packages with your teeth! The use of composite to change the appearance of teeth does have certain limitations and in some situations the use of porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns may provide better, longer lasting results.
Cosmetic dental bonding is just one of the tools that we use to perform beautiful cosmetic dentistry. Give Spokane Family Dental a call and come see if dental bonding can be used to give you that beautiful smile you have always wanted.
